In the so called unglorious leagues there was a team called wroxeter united who had just been relegated from the conference with a young strker called James Haslam coming through the ranks. The team had just hit rockbottom as they lied last in the league after 5 games they then decided to unleash the16 year old against AFC Telford United at the start of the game they were booing manager John Mcormack's name at the end they were praising it as they won 3 0 thanks to a hat trick from the boy at the end of the season they finished top of the pile with the new wonderkid bagging 37 league goals and 13 cup goals there was a ton of interest from bigger clubs and they sell their beloved hero to portsmouth f.c for1.75 million a club record that season portsmouth finished 6th in the league with James Haslam achieving 53 goals in all competitions by this time he was 17 and was on his way to the WORLD CUP he made his debut up front with Theo Walcott against Turkey they won 4 0 with 2 goals each from the new strike partners they soon amazingly reached the final against Argentina James Haslams oppurtunity to shine and he made no mistake scoring a hat trick to win the WORLD CUP 3 0 he soon moved to Chelsea for 16 million pounds and scored41 league goals and stayed there for 15 years anhieving 700 hundred goals 4 world cups and 3 euros {he missed 1 with a broken toe } then disaster struck wayne rooney clattered into him and BANG there goes his knee he never played again the end of a truly world class player he stated this is the saddest moment of my career stepping down as captain of club and country . he also admitted interest in the vacant portsmouth managerial position the team he supported and played for
