I have just had my monthly copy of 442 delivered and I must say it was even more pleasing than the mag itself to read about CM 2010!!

I am excited to read about the new set piece creator and drill training as well as the return of the With/Without Ball screen that I havent seen on CM for a number of years and which I personally enjoyed.
It was like shaping your team for their match ahead, so well done on bringing that back and well done on the new ideas.

I have played FM and not CM now since the two split/created but I can see myself returning to CM this September (hence my decision to join this site today ).

Anyone else get FourFourTwo and read about CM2010???

Seen this on a video Roy did a while back. These features look brilliant, and I'm looking forward to CM10 been the best ever.

Hi there, I have only just joined this online forum tonight.

There is an additional mag with 442 called The Special Ones and its Britains top 20 managers.

CM2010 has a full page advert on inside cover, inside back page and back page but more importantly it has a 2 page spread on thie inside too.

Game just looks very good. It seems the training in the game is also better with actual drills you can set for training. Also the Set Piece screen will be xciting according to this article!

Just watched those videos, look very improved on the last CM I saw.

So, has there been no CM since CM2008 then?
Have the guys been working on this ever since? Which would make me think it is going to be extra special????

welcome mate, and thanks for the info about 442
sure game gonna be more polished since that video, which has been shot in February/march , so DEV team had extra 5-6 months to work more in the game and make sure new features gonna work perfectly as i guess

Do you think the With/Without Ball screen will be ONE for each and general or will it be like the older version of CM where the pitch was split into roughly 16 sections and you could instruct your players where to be in each section?

Some people didnt like this feature but I cant understand why as this is a classic thing nearly every coach will do when shapig up his team for a saturday. Yes you cant make players robotic and CM would illustrate that too.

Maybe the more creative players would wander about and the less ones would stick more to their areas.

Don’t know about old CM mate, I used to play PM and FIFAM ( at some points both had it too) dividing the pitch in sections.
I like it tbh, and used it a lot,. as you said it give us same tools managers have IRL. But again, most negative reflection about it , that it was complicated or take time to adjust it.

one screen for def and another for attacking should do it tbh, and gonna make it accessible for wider range of people as it is not as complicated and faster to set and can still give us close results
I personally prefer to divided by sections, but many will hate it too
Hope BGS clarify this subject further, to know which version are they using in CM10

regarding criticism that it make players like robots, you are right, as some players rarely fellow what managers tell them anyway, some have more freedom licence ordered by the manager. Anyway, IRL no one gonna fellow that order 100% every time, but it give the players a guideline to fellow

Yes that might be a good point. Maybe you are right and one screen for each attacking and defending will be enough so as to not get bogged down with it.

Any more news on it?

4-4-2 is a quality mag, I've been a subscriber for three years now and it does have excellent depth and intersting articles. Even if the amount of Leeds jokes are OTT... ;)
