William Gallas vs. John Terry

If you comapare the two players, the assessment indicates Gallas is "better" in all 5 categories. Although I'm a Arsenal fan, this is wrong. Also, Jeremy Toulalan, Angelo Palombo, and Federico Fazio's numbers should be higher.

I've found this occurance a few times now, it's mostly common with defenders though, I think it's because the game takes all the stats into account rather than the key defensive stats when comparing players, so at times it comes up with inaccurate results.

I've found from experience that you have to judge the stats yourself in such occassions, I've looked at this comparison myself just now and in the vast majority of 'defensive' stats (eg. positioning, tackling, marking, concentration, jumping, heading..), Terry is better, so this is certainly one such occassion where you can't take the feature at face value.

Overall though it works well and I always suspect it takes 'hidden' stats (CA, PA, etc.) into account too?

When you compare say 2 defenders, the assessment should focus on "defensive attributes." I understand why Gallas turns up "better" in all 5, but 99 people I've asked said Terry is the "better" defender and Wenger would be the 100th.

in real life, Gallas may well be faster at running, jump higher, maybe physically stronger?

LFC fans normally find Carra is poor, this is because the games match engine and AI places FAR less importance on the players brain than their body!

There's an interview in arsenaltvonline I saw where Gallas singled out Terry as one of the best defenders he played with/against. He especially praised Terry's bravery, saying "He would put his head in places I would never..."

I think Terry is more consistent than Gallas, although I do believe Gallas does have more to his game. He is quicker and is better on the ball than Terry, but he lacks concentration and needs to control his temper a bit more.
