not really the "brill" sites i was hoping for, both use the tripod web building system coming up with pretty much exactly the same site. I'm not a web designer but there are plenty of better free templates around which will make it very unlikely that another CM site will have the same design as yours.

Also the content both sites have is pretty much what i can get from official sites and other better CM/FM sites.

Its also a good idea not to open your site when you have empty sections. Open it when its ready.

I would also advise moving both sites to another host and definately get a content management system, like cutenews, so its easier to update the sites content, maybe trying to offer something different/original may get more vistors to your site, it will also keep them soming back if the content is quality, which to be frank it isn't.

Once piece of content which was funny was this:

The majority of cm sites are rubbish the only other good cm sites which I strongly recommend are http://totalcm.tripod.com and www.championshipmanager.co.uk but another great site is www.sportsinteractive.co.uk.

Firstly as the majority of the people who visit your site will know the two official sites and secondly there are much better CM sites around than total cm and yours.

I will take what you say in mind and sort it out. My host is moving soon and there will be forums, also i didn't start this thread and do not agree with some of the stuff he says. My site is updated regularly and i can't keep it closed. As soon as you start (as far as i know) it goes straight onto the web so if there is a mistake you have to sort it out before too many people see it. My template may change now that i have seen that they are the same, but to be honest the free templates are really rubbish with Tripod.

Thanks for the opinion though and i shall change my site accordingly.

To be honest it was directed more at the first site than total CM.

What i meant about keeping it closed is to not advertise the link until its ready and you like it. If you don't give out the link then its unlikely that people will see it. I like the idea of your CM records page by the way (i think i forgot to mention that).

As for free templates try looking through http://www.oswd.org/ as they offer hundreds of free templates most of them are top quality.

As i have said on a few other threads, the way your site is set up at the moment it will become a pain to update it, try and find a host that allows php (i think tripod does offer this) and try setting up a program like cutenews (http://www.cutephp.com/), which allows you to add sections in it and adds content without having to upload loads of files each time.

it can be hard to make a site, which is why i used Tripod and i am sure that is why he used tripod too. I personnaly dont know how to make a decent site which is why i decided to use tripod as it is quick simple and easy. My site was not going to go up as i didn't know how to make one to begin with so i asked in this forum and then discovered tripod and how easy it was to use so i posted a link to my site, too early i admit and it wasnot finished.

The other site looks similar to mine as he has looked at mine too much and he should really be thinking of his own contents rather than popping over to my site or going to others sites and just sticking it all in.

My site is made up completly out of my head and visitors comments when i get them( so far i haven't had many). Storys and parts of it are still being worked on because people who have said they will help me do some of it have not fulfilled their part of the bargain so im having to work twice as much to fill the site.

If you PM me i can give you a website template.

All I would like in return is a "site design by Assistant Hosting" and a link back to my site at the bottom of every page

Alternatively you could add me yegnold2004@hotmail.com

All very true, either take up yegoanalsoflandlaldlsalsdlaldadaldland's (sorry but i couldn't spell your name after trying three times) offer. or choose on off of the site i gave ealier (oswd.org).

Like i said before maybe at least looking at the cutenews (thing i talked about earlier) solution as it allows you to add users so you could give your staff an account and they can add the stuff themselves cutting out the middle man and reducing your work load.

Trust me it will make things a lot easier, not all the major sites use it but they often use something similar.
