Really struggling here, going for goal ratio. 1 in 3 isnt bad. 24 games, 8 goals. Togolese Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor. A talented striker, but not the best pick. I was stuck so he will do

Since I found out my front two lacked goal firepower, I'm selecting a goal-scoring midfielder:

Serghiy Rebrov, scorer of 20 CL goals from a Attacking Midfield position. He topped the CL goalscoring charts in the 1999/2000 season with 10 goals also in that season he got to the semi's with Dynamo Kyiv.

Never won it, but has performed well in the majority of his matches in the European Cup...

My next pick may surprise some who think I am overly Liverpool biased

An important player in the Man United side which did the Premier League and Champions League double in 2007/2008. I refer of course to Argentinian star Carlos Tevez.

Vitor Baia

Porto and Barcelona goalkeeper Vitor Baia. Won the competition with Porto in 2004.

Inter Milan full back Javier Zanetti. Never won it, but made over 100 combined European appearances. Will be a good full back.

For my next defender I am going for another German - Jurgen Kohler.

Kohler won Champions League with Borussia Dortmund in 1997 so links up once again with Stefan Reuter who I previously selected.

He won 105 caps for Germany in a long illustrious career which saw him on winning European Championship and World Cup sides as well as his domestic honours which include 3 Bundesliga and 2 Serie A titles.

My next pick is Ludovic Giuly, the captain of Monaco in 2004 and winner with Barcelona in 2006.

He's scored 9 goals.

Need a left midfielder so going for a one time winner who scored a goal in the final as Porto beat Monaco 2-0. He was mainly utilized from the bench but still won a medal May not be the best ever pick, but I'm going for lively midfielder Dmitri Alenichev

Park Ji Sung

Not the most skillful player, but always works hard and performs well in the champions league. Helped PSV reach the semis in 2005 and put in some very good performances for United last season despite missing out on a place in the final.

The vastly experienced Michael Reiziger will slot in nicely at right-back. Won it with Ajax in 1995, and has made plenty of subsequent appearances in the competition with Barcelona and PSV.

Jari Litmanen

One of the highest goalscorers in the CL remaining. He has won it in 1995 with Ajax. He'll be the link along with Kaka to strikeforce from my midfield. I think he's a good pick at this stage.

A little and large strikeforce. one of the top scorers remaining to be picked. Not too pleased. He'll do, John Carew.

Right back here. Winner with Porto- played every minute of their campaign when they won it. Moved to Chelsea where he played for a bit- not so often now though.

I have two picks sorry guys been busy revising and what not...

First pick is Jurgen Kohler, for his Dortmund days, winning in 1997, he was very physical and great in the air.

And my second pick is going to be a striker, and it will be.. Robin Van Persie, he is a great striker, who links up play and finishes well, his goal scoring record in the competition is 6 in 13 which isn't bad.

So all of a sudden the strikers I wanted (Carew and Van Persie) are gone, so I'm going with biased picks again. First pick is Feyenoord and former Milan forward Jon Dahl Tomasson, he'll be linking up with former Feyenoord and current Inter Milan forward Julio Cruz.

He's mine John

My final pick is my goalkeeper. And it is Andoni Zubizarreta, of Barcelona fame (and also Valencia). Played in the 1994 final with Barça, made plenty of CL appearances after that with Valencia. Didn't win it, and even though there are 'keepers left with more final appearances and medals than this chap, he's an infinitely better goalkeeper than all of them.

I'm going with a 1994 finalist from the Barcelona side. Ronald Koeman his abillity to hit a long pass was unsurpassed. He could shoot from far out aswell.

Here are my final two picks. Firstly, a Brazilian who can play on the left wing- but I will use him in central midfield. He has played for Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and now plays at Bayern Munich. I am talking of Ze Roberto.

My second pick will play at right back. He is not the best player in the world, and is often a back up player- but he has come to the fore in recent years. This is Ireland and Man U's John O'shea.

Paulo Sergio

Don't know who he is, but he's a winger with a decent amount of goals (13) and won the 2001 Champions League with Bayern Munich.

That completes my team.

Walter Samuel, a defender who was an absolute rock in defence for Roma, and Inter Milan, it was hard to make a decision between two or three center backs and it was even harder to decide whether to go with 3 center backs or four defenders but I chose 3 defenders.

That leads to my second pick of Xabi Alonso, a winner with Liverpool in 2005 and an ever present performer for the club in the competition, and he played in Europe with Real Sociedad, it was hard to put him in front of my other choice but in the end it was probably down to the winners medal.

This completes my team.

For my final pick I've gone with - Philipp Lahm of Bayern Munich -

Although Lahm is right-footed, and while he played as a right back as a youth, he has also been played effectively at left back, where his runs with the ball from the left flank and swift cut-ins towards the centre, where he could then shoot with his strong right foot, has been a potent weapon for both Bayern and Germany.

Panucci and Lahm can play both right and left full back so this gives my defence an extra degree of flexibility.

My team -
GK - Sebastiano Rossi
LB - Christian Panucci, CB - Stefan Reuter, CB - Jurgen Kohler, RB - Philipp Lahm

CM - Andrea Pirlo, LM - Steve McManaman, CM - Jari Litmanen, RM - Dirk Kuyt

ST - Henrik Larsson, ST - Carlos Tevez

Right, I'm going to make my final 2 picks as I seem to be short despite having had my picks go by..

Firstly, I am choosing the skillful and immensley talented winger who has played in a world cup final and been touted as one of the hottest prospects in the world for a few years. Even though he's had an iffy time at Chelsea so far, my choice was class at Lyon and has already racked up 56 European appearances, scoring 8 goals in the process.

Florent Malouda

My second pick is based more on attacking talent than defensive ability, which is sadly somewhat lacking. He is much maligned for his arrogant attitude and frankly erratic end ball, but there is no doubting that technically and physically he is an absolute monster of a full back and will be sadly missed in this years final. Oh, and anyone saying this is a poor pick, it was either him or Traore, I'm seriously that out of ideas.

Daniel Alves
